birthdays

with each birthday that passes, i hope to capture a beautiful
glimpse of my girls in all their joy on their special days.
with those photos, i like to put together something to send to
family and friends to say thank you.
these are some of the designs that i did a couple years ago.

selah at her first birthday (photo by auntie christine)
selah's 1st birthday was a big bash in our new (to us) little house.
if you were there, you know it was crowded.
it was such a relief that the weather was nice enough to move the party outside
to our not so little backyard!

when emery turned 3, she was in love with the tyrone!
she would even introduce herself as tyrone when meeting teachers for her various activities.
we had a backyardigans birthday party for her in our backyard with 3 of her little friends...

the sound of music

so...how do you feel about the music on this blog?
what should i add to my playlist?
know any new (to me) artists that might suit what i'm liking these days?

ingrid michaelson (my current fav) and i love this photo!

THANKS!

selah rain

like emery's, this design was done in advance with a 'boy' version of it as well.
i like to have the design ready to go, so our announcement of the baby's arrival
comes with a pic and all details.
selah kept us waiting, as she was born 2 weeks after her due date (induction).
she was born on good friday, and that it was!
we sent this out via email on april 7th,
and then mailed it to family and friends with in the first few weeks.
the nice thing was that we were home 12 hours after selah was born.
i'll never forget the moment of emery meeting her sister for the first time...

this is my most recent photo of selah... i love my girls.

taken on her preschool trip to the farm...she loved it!

norah kate

i was looking through my old files and found my second ever birth announcement design (2006).

art show

when emery was in preschool, i was part of the fundraising committee.
judah had the great idea to do an art show to raise money for the school.
i had the pleasure of organizing and running the event!
above, is the art show invitation i designed for the event.
jude went in to each class and talked about being an artist.
then each child painted a picture on canvas and described it to their teacher.
the paintings with their descriptions were priceless!

that night over $600 was raised for the school and $300 for a family in need.
the art show has become an annual event at the preschool and
we look forward to being involved with it again this year!
