big treat

at our house we get one treat a day 

and we usually have it after school.

we call it 'big treat'!

this week selah had a new friend over for a playdate.

this is what our friend looked like after enjoying her big treat,

a chocolate ice cream cone...

judah and i have another kind of treat coming our way.

tomorrow we are traveling for a conference/vacation

to an island in greece!

crazy, right!?

i know i'll have many images to share upon return!

wacky hair

it was wacky hair day at school on friday.

emery had a plan!

it started with rags the night before.

it ended with almost every clip we have

(thanks sarah!),

and some sparkly pipe cleaner.

selah - decided that wacky hair = not brushing hair 

(no photo of that!)

do you have memories of fun theme days at school?

working on emery's hair reminded me of the 

"dress like a character from a book" when i was in school.

i couldn't find the photo to share, 

but kudos to my mom who was patient enough 

to do my hair like pippi longstocking!

i wish i could find that photo...

we had a great long weekend.

sorting through those photos tonight,

and hoping to share some later this week!

it's so nice to have good neighbour friends!

mudder's day

i wanted to go for a hike on mother's day.

emery wanted to go for a bike ride,

but i knew it would be hard for me take pictures on a bike...

so a hike and picnic sounded just right, to me...

we headed to a spot along the grand river and started exploring.

snapping photos all along the way...

we couldn't find a good spot for a picnic 

(i forgot to pack a blanket)

so we headed back to some rocks near where we parked...

as you can see from their faces - the picnic i packed was not a hit.

i was left at the rocks, while everyone else headed back to the car.

game over - so i thought...

~

but it was still a fun outing,

because emery found some mud!

making it a very memorable 'mudder's day'!

selah decided to join in the fun.

making mud prints.

we found the mud (yes it's just mud)

dripping down selah's leg to be quite amusing!

and this is our attempt at removing the mud 

from their hands before heading home...

it wasn't how i expected the day to go - but it was super fun.

a 'mommy day' that i'll never forget!

making eyes

aubree came for a visit recently...

she was making eyes at uncle jude that day.

super cute!

it reminded me of when emery was about the same age 

and she was taken with uncle joshy...

so nice to capture some genuine smiles.

oh hi!

it's been a while...

here's why:

my body seemed to need a break the past week or so.  

so i've been laying low,

and trying to find strength & motivation again!

with the help of the ever wonderful jude,

we found it!

feeling better the past few days and getting things done again.

i also started skipping.

holy workout.

2 days in so far - wish me luck!

the fam and i had a little road trip last weekend.

philly and new jersey.

philly for a conference, jersey to see my sister and her fam.

good times.
