mommy confessions

you'll never guess where i took these photos!
i love the expressions i was able to capture...
 we've all been there before:
once in a while,
or for some of you,
 maybe once a week...
i hadn't been since i was young,
and it really took me back to take my girls.
they're already asking when we can go again...
 to the car wash!

just another reason why you should bring your camera out often
and try to anticipate moments you'll want to remember!

and here's why...

why i record our lives through photography:

this is emery enjoying our
'two thousand & eleven'
yearbook with grandma.
i love it!

don't just take photos, friends.
do something with them!

print them for albums,
put them on your walls
or create photobooks.

it's not likely that in 30 years
you'll be pulling out your ehd's or dvds
to show photos to your grandkids...

my portfolio

i have poured myself into photography
over the past year or so.
taking photos of others and sharing them here,
                 has brought be great joy.

here is a collection of some favourites:

love & thanks to those who have trusted me
to capture these images of your loved ones.

keeping up with the jones'

during march break, the girls and i visited the jones cousins.
since wyatt is now 6 months old - it was time for some more photos!
this auntie was happy to oblige:
had to post this in colour so you could see his eyes - wow!

sometimes emery likes to get in on the photo action...
and this is how i know when she is done cooperating!

while were there, auntie beth offered to paint emery's nails.
during that process, uncle josh was inspired.
this is uncle josh painting shamrocks on her nails for st. patricks day.
another highlight of the visit was when auntie surprised the girls
with a bouncy castle in the loft!
~
and since i took so many photos of little wyatt,
i wanted to share a few of big brother evan.

i love these little guys (and their mom and dad too)!

this blog comes to you from my backyard...
enjoy the incredible day!

this was a favourite today:

i've been blowing up balloons all week...
looking forward to sharing more images from the past few days soon.

what did you do during spring break?

a first...

what a privilege to capture a child's first:
first smile, first step, first day of school...

today i spent the day with my girls and cousin aubree.
it was a beautiful day for the park, a good long walk and a special treat.

today - aubree enjoyed her first frosty.
she was hesitant at first...
she actually pushed it away.
but after a few minutes of watching the rest of us enjoy ours so much,
she couldn't resist digging in!

and i think it's safe to say, that she is now a frosty fan too!

do you prefer chocolate or vanilla?

jonathan david

i had the pleasure of meeting jonathan david last week.
what a sweet little boy,
with an amazing mom, dad and big sister!

i'm told he's a great sleeper during the day
but apparently he was enjoying the camera too much to rest!
it wasn't until the very end of our time together that he truly surrendered...
how could you not on a soft blanket like this one:

such a fun and loving little family:  klass, leah, kathryn and jonathan

i loved walking into this home and instantly being inspired
by their treasures to create one-of-a-kind images.

thanks again for inviting me to spend the morning with guys,
i loved every minute of it!

the zoo

a couple weeks ago we went to the zoo.
who doesn't love the zoo?
it's an amazing place, and a privilege to be able to visit one - for sure.

we had a great time!
yes, we saw lots of animals.
yes, i took lots of photos of the animals we saw.
but, it's not those photos that i'm going to look back on
and cherish when i remember our day at the zoo.
it's the ones of my girls enjoying the experience and our family time together...

what do activities do you love to do as a family?

dreams

selah read a book a month or two ago
about a girl who trained her husky puppy for a whole year
to pull a dog sled.
as a result of this story and a littlest petshop husky,
selah decided that it was her dream to ride a dogsled some day.

i told her it was a great dream and i hoped that someday
it would come true for her...
a couple weeks ago i heard that there was going to be
an 'ice dog festival' in town.

once i looked it up online to see what it was all about,
i knew we had to go!

so amazing to see the joy on selah's face
as her little dream came true!

keep dreaming friends...
