picture day was last week at emery's school.
when we picked emery up after school, she was crying.
she was sad because she had to sit in the front row for her class photo
and last year she was a 'medium sized friend' who got to stand in the middle row.
well, last year she was in a split class for JK/SK.
inevitably, she is one of the smallest in her class this year.
knowing this would be the trend for many years to come,
we tried to help her look on the bright side...
she was also upset that she had been crying
when the class photo was taken,
but she was happier when she remembered that she wasn't crying
for her individual photo because that was taken before the class photo
(bright side).
so life went on as we walked home from school...
and she told us that she was the star student that week!
she was chosen for working hard and being kind to her friends.
something to celebrate for sure...
we had two 'big treats' that night!
tonight after reading with emery and tucking her into bed,
she called be back upstairs a few minutes later.
she was upset...
she was thinking about picture day and was worried that
she had ruined the class photo for everyone
because she had been crying while it was taken...
i held her close and stroked her face while she fell asleep.
oh emery...
she is a kind, beautiful & sensitive girl,
and we love her.
