first day for selah

it's hard to believe my little bean is in junior kindergarten.

 she was so calm this morning, no worries for this girl.

 we got to school early, so had some time to wait for the bell to ring.

maybe a little nervous...

once the teachers said it was time to go in - there was no hesitations, 

she grabbed the hand of a new friend and waved goodbye. 

she may be one of the smallest in the class - but with her personality, 

she won't go unnoticed!

selah bean, 

i'll miss you while you're at school.

but i know you'll make many friends and learn so much.

i love you and i'm proud of you.

i can't wait to hear all about your first day!

emery's first day of grade one...

she was ready thirty minutes before it was time to leave!

it was so nice to walk to school altogether.

  emery had a great day reconnecting with friends, 

and learning a little french:

"bonjour mes amies"

simple things

quick post to share a simple thing that made me smile.

bubbles...

during a trip to storybook gardens with nan this week,

the girls got to play with bubbles!

though this photo is quite busy, i love the moment captured...

emery was so excited about the big bubble she had created,

that she didn't even notice the even larger one that was growing right above her!

hard to believe the summer is coming to an end. 

last weekend, i got in a tizzy because we hadn't done all the things i wanted 

to do with the girls this summer...

(though we did pack a lot in!)

so, i made a list!

it's the end of the week now and though we didn't get everything done, 

i think we did pretty well.

this week we:

baked (gingerbread!) cookies, 

went swimming with friends, 

went to storybook gardens with nan, 

had a playdate at funworx, 

spent time with friends in our backyard,

played littlest pet shop 

& visited the great grandparents & cousins.

still on the list (will do in the fall):

bike to waterloo park

city bus adventure

photoshoot with emery

today we're going swimming at the local pool!

this weekend i'm going to see billy elliot,

 and we have friends from the congo coming to visit!

here are a few fun things to check out:

• wouldn't you love to spend a night or two here?
• for those with boys (or girls) - these are fun!
• pretty darn cool - might have to try it...
• a favourite momblog writer - beautiful reflections as her little one starts school
• creative idea for covering up mishaps
